I hope it went well. Can you post a summary of the experience and a link to the actual show?
Show is in an hour and 15. http://www.wafs.tv The homepage has a split panel uptop, on the left is a video screen and the right is an IRC chat. We will be live just after 7pm est.
Show was pretty good. Next one will be better and the third one will be better then that.
John Sottilare is loading up the file now. It will be “on demand” tomorrow. Go to the website and click the “On Demand” link, and the show should be in the list. I will put a link to it tomorrow night when I get back from work.
With proper program we can download it and move it where ever we like.
We can not tell for sure, but there were 200 views on two feeds and 1470 minutes of views on another feed, from which I will subtract 3 vies in studio, my parents and my wife make 5 at 120 = 600 minutes, so from that 1470 that 870 remaining split over two hours and an indeterminate number of viewers. Good traffic for the first run. It will get better as we prep and market it up.
All in all I had a good time. Next week will be better (although with labor day I expect viewership will drop) but things wil get better.
The show has been loaded onto the channel as on-demand.
When you load up http://www.wafs.tv the video player on the left has two buttons in the middle of the bottom row. The left button reads “On-Air” the right reads “On-Demand”. Click “On-Demand” then select LP120: Talking Liberty off of the list.
Yay.
I finally got a chance to see it.
I have no comment on the content. It’s pretty much what I expected from Lbertarians.
critique:
Your strongest presentation was in dialogue. Letting the others talk inspired and motivated you and your participation was focused and cogent.
Your weakness is was in the times where you were in the spotlight. Many pauses… and one lasted a painful 10 seconds.
There are two kinds of radio shows…
One is where the show is about the Host. Rush is the best example. He will be the first to tell you. You need to avoid this for awhile. I could hear your sweat.
The other is the one that is about the conversation. Bill Bennett ‘s show is like that. He shines the spotlight on the guest and the topic they bring, adding his own thoughts and wisdom to the mix. This is where you need to live. You excel at it.
When’s the next show?
Next Show is Monday.
I need to devote a good portion of time over the next couple of days to get it in a somewhat decent shape. It will be hard because it being labor day, guests are pretty much non-existent. The show may end up being me reading from Reason, ISIL, Rockwell etc and not anything special because of this.
I wanted to do the show on Labor law and policy, but was unable to find guests who would be in town on the holiday.
I was woefully under-prepared for the first show. It was almost entirely off the cuff. My scribbled notes were guidelines for content (that went largely unused) and nothing substantial. I had underlined things that I intended to look up for specifics, but just had no time. The show was originally intended for Wednesday, but the CP guy beat me too the slot.
I fully agree with your assessment. I don’t want to be the focus of the show. In fact, I am only doing the show because SOMEONE has to. Someone has to step up and lend voice of support to the beleaguered champions of freedom and those who toil under the yoke of tyranny.
I am hoping that the brutality of being on air Monday with little support will make me better. Obviously by the end of the show I was no where near as nervous as at the beginning. More prep on my part will help this.
AND if you call in that will easily kill an hour or two.
