Author: Why do people make excuses for stupid movies?
No, seriously. When I see a blatently idiotic and bad movie, then flat out declare it with an itemized list which indisputably proves, point by point, why the film is an abomination, inveritably somebody I like and admire chastizes me for taking it to seriously.
After seeing the junkyard vomit that is Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, I’m striking back. That’s the line in the sand. For those that claim that a desire for at least mediocre filmmaking is “taking entertainment too seriously”, my only reply can be “WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!”
Why do you WANT to be stupid?! Why do you want to scoop out every crumb of your brain in order to ignore the blazingly obvious BAD of a film and convince youself you were successfully entertained?! Here’s a clue: If you have to say “I just wanted brainless entertainment” my retort to you is that you are full of shit!
Had Transformers 2 been of the quality of, say The Dark Knight, you would have been thrilled! Hell, had it been the quality of Hellboy, Outlander or The Blood of Heroes…you would have been raised up.
No, dude… you pre-qualified yourself with low expections (i.e. removed your brain) so that you were not disappointed by the streaming turd of this film. This is akin to getting so incredibly drunk that screwing the hideous and inbred granola chick would not be the soul damning experience that any sane and sober person would admit to.
Here’s your cup of coffee… unless you are a little kid, if you liked this movie you are choosing to be stupid.

No…this is intervention. You have taken in so much stupidity, that you are now addicted to it. You need to be held to the mirror and let you own eyes judge you.

In closing, answer this question: What do you call a person who pays to have shit shovelled in their mouth, then says “Oh, it’s not so bad. I knew going in that it would be this way so I wasn’t disappointed”.

I was planning on seeing the movie because of the explosions and Optimus Prime… but… hmmm.
Many people might say something like… “Wait till it is out on DVD” or something like that.
Not me. Avoid it. Never see it.
